Day 29 of Giving

Today is my last day of the official "29 Giving Challenge", As my gift, I opted to spend some time with my grandparents bringing their favorite furry visitors with me. In spending time with them, I realize that giving is very much a two way action and, you almost always get back more than you give. The challenge has been a great experience for me. One a strongly recommend to everyone who wants to focus their life around positivity. Thank you so much for givng me this forum and this challenge. I…See More

Day 28 of Giving

Today was a small give...got back from a long day of travel and it was supposed to be just my husband and I for dinner. My stepson ended up coming home with two buddies and asked if they could stay for dinner...my response as always is of course, we would just make everything stretch. It ended up being a lovely impromptu dinner. I think opening up your home to people, even when you don't feel like it can be a great gift.

Today was a crazy busy day at work so as the day rolled on, I was starting to worry that I wasn't going to get my give in but as the work day drew to a close, today's give came fairly easy... I made my stepson his favorite supper....cheesy risotto. Giving to my family is always a great give for me and likely the one I often take the most for granted, This type of gift always returns me the greatest gift.....perspective.

Although we celebrated Father's day last weekend with my kids, I still wanted to do something special for my husband on Father's Day. Although he would never admit it, I noticed my husband was a little bummed that the kids were travelling on Father's Day so I tried to make the day as special as possible for him. Since it was just us and the dogs, I tied a card and a string to each dogs collar and had the dogs wake my husband up on Sunday. After his Father's day licks with generous amounts… Continue

Today was a very fun give. A testament to tenacity with a hint of irony, my grandmother who resides in a seniors home organized a walk to raise money for Cancer research. With an average age pushing 90 there aren't many long distance walkers in the group, so we had extra wheel chairs brought in and volunteers paired with each senior to push them in the wheel chairs for the "walk". Needless to say the walk was a huge sucess raising $2000 for the cause.

Where there is a will...there is… Continue
