Free Resume Giveaway Results

Posted on October 8, 2008 at 12:58pm 1 Comment

Hello, All- Sorry it took me so long to get to announcing this, but I gave the free resume away to a single mom in North Carolina who was nominated by a fellow 29 Gifts participant. I told her on Saturday and did the resume earlier this week and sent it to her. I didn't hear back, so I hope she was happy with it. Thank you to everyone who submitted themselves or others. It was a fun give! Jenny

Does It Count?

Posted on October 3, 2008 at 12:35pm 5 Comments

Does it count if I am giving someone a belated birthday present tonight but their birthday was a week ago?
Does it count if I'm treating my husband to a massage & spa day for tomorrow but I scheduled it a month ago?
Does it count if it's an ongoing thing, like giving my time and talents to help put on a charity event (www.racefortherescues.org) like I do every year?
Does it count if I would do it anyway, even without this challenge?

What counts?

HELP ME GIVE!

Okay, this is hard. I keep thinking "What can I give? What can I give?" I want to be as creative as possible and try to do something completely different each day. This is what I've come up with and I need your help:

I am a career consultant and personal marketing specialist. I want to write or rewrite/upgrade/revamp/turbocharge a resume for someone for free. This is a service worth up to $260 depending upon the professional level of the person and whether I'm writing it from… Continue

Day Two- Giving in Someone Else's Name

Posted on October 1, 2008 at 4:30pm 3 Comments

Our friends Carole & Michelle got married last weekend. In lieu of asking for presents, these generous and gracious ladies asked all of their guests to give a little more, either financially or in effort, to their favorite charities. And of course The Race for the Rescues (www.racefortherescues.org) is my big charity. Euthanasia is up 30% at the city shelters in SoCal because of the housing crisis. People are turning in their family pets becaus they don't think they can afford them anymore.… Continue

Day One- Writing a Love Letter to a Friend

Posted on September 30, 2008 at 3:59pm 4 Comments

I was a little stumped as to what to do with my first giving day. I signed up without a plan. I did this on purpose cause sometimes you just know if you wait until you have a plan, you'll never do something. So here I am.

The original idea was to give my undivided attention to my dear friend Maria for a half hour. I know that sounds like a lame give, but I am EXTREMELY not a phone person so that is really a challenge for me. But we didn't talk for that long- because she had to get… Continue

Jenny I'm looking at different people's blogs and love the one you did offering resumes. I recently did a resume for my sister and didn't even realise it was a give!
