Days 4 & 5

I am still dealing with my back issues and today thankfully I have a massage scheduled which I really hope will improve things. It should at least calm down the muscle spasms I have been experiencing, which is really what is causing me the most pain.Thursday and Friday I was very much keeping my focus on not causing myself more pain, trying to make sure I kept up with the stretching and icing I am supposed to be doing. I guess my gift those past two days was to myself in the form of self care.…See More

Day 3

Today I am home, on the couch, resting a very painful back. I saw my doctor yesterday and she told me I had inflammation of the sacroiliac joint, which is putting my back into spasm. I can't do a whole lot right now, mostly because the pain medication makes me dizzy whenever I get up and about. So I am not sure what today's gift will be. I did log into work and check my email, and even took care of a couple of little things that I could do easily on my laptop, so maybe that counts. Or perhaps…See More

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
Because I think 29 days of giving just sounds like a good idea.
What I'd most like to receive:
I'd like to have at least one other person sign up to give this a try.
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
I came across the link of a friend's website.
About me:
I am a writer-dancer-artist, a sometime poet and closet singer. I have a corporate day job that is my secret identity.

I live in the city, though not a large one; I am an urban pagan and I am at home here. I see the cycles of nature here among the bricks, just as much as I see them among the trees.

I love horror movies; the more zombies the better and if it has eighties music and big hair...that's a bonus. I collect vampire and occult folklore with a preference for local New England tales. I adore spooky stories that make me go to bed with the light on. I also entertain myself with martial arts films..

I grow things. Mostly in pots in my small back yard. I craft with yarn, fabric and paint. I find new uses for old things. Like most crafters I have an excessive collection of materials that I have yet to organize.

I don't like doing dishes, laundry or making the bed but I do them anyway. I love dancing, reading, talking with friends, walking barefoot and taking naps in the sun, on the couch with my cats.

If there were a way to exist by eating only dark chocolate, I would do it.

Day 1

Posted on March 2, 2010 at 5:44am 1 Comment

Yesterday was the first day of my non-monetary 29 Days. I invited a friend over for tea and we shared some banana bread I had baked on Sunday. It was one of those two way kind of gifts because I had the enjoyment of her company too.

Hmmmm...Round 2?

Posted on February 25, 2010 at 3:47am 2 Comments

I could use a mental reboot and the 29 Days of Giving has always managed to put me in a better place emotionally. I am thinking that perhaps March might be a good month to do a second round of giving.

I'd like to see if I can do it without spending any money! That would make it more of a challenge. It has been easy for me when I have a day that I can't think of anything to just say...hmmmm...how about I take so and so to lunch, or maybe I will buy some one flowers or a…

29 Days - week1

Posted on January 13, 2010 at 12:43pm 2 Comments

I have finished the first week of my second round of the 29 Days of Giving. This time around it seemed to take me a bit longer to get into the swing of things. First I was delayed due to being sick over New Year’s weekend. I had intended to start on the 1st as I did last year but instead I was in bed. I began on the 5th when I was feeling better.

I remember last year that it seemed to take much less thought to figure out what to give each day. I think I was more inspired by the work… Continue
