I LOVE your story!! I got SO excited after I heard your story that I cannot wait to begin to 'give'! I do tend to give a lot now and I feel that anything positive helps one move along a much better path. I have had MS for 28 years and was told when…

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
I live on Social Security Disability of $814.70 per month and I have very little left over ~ BUT ~ I KNOW there are others MUCH WORSE OFF than I am. I've also had MS for 28 years (and told in November 1981 that "I WOULD be totally confined to a wheelchair within 5 years" and it's been 28 years and I've NEVER spent a day in a wheelchair!! I AM SO BLESSED........and I KNOW IT!! *Ü* I look for "the positive" in life and NOT the negative!
What I'd most like to receive:
Prayers.......
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
Television
About me:
52 year old divorced female. Love Scrapbooking and especially of my 2 Grandsons, ages 1 and 4. Not much to tell about me. I live very simply ~ or I try to!! I need to clear out a LOT of "clutter" and simplify my life.

Hi Joni, It is wonderful that you want to donate to the cause of the month. You may donate as much or as little as you feel. Please never feel obliged to donate if you do not have the funds. Many can afford to donate cash and many can not.As you follow this journey you will come to realize how just such a simple give as a smile to a stranger, or a kind word or action can brighten not only some one else's day but your day as well. You will also start taking more care of yourself and by doing this you will value not only yourself more but everyone else to.Enjoy this challenge, bless you and your family.

Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar or our cute Gift Note to accompany your gifts.

Thanks for all your comments! This is the first time I've gone quite so public with my story. I've always imagined myself helping others through sharing my life's journey in some way. But I always found an excuse why I couldn't or shouldn't. So I've…

I have received a few gifts, tea, coffee and a co-worker bought me a cool ornament for my house. I have given quite a few out of the blue compliments. Offered to help with a few different things. I am hoping to give more and more!

I agree with that totally, I am a bit of a procrastinator sometimes and this has pushed me to do things NOW rather than think about it and potentially never get to it! What kind of yoga do you teach? I have just started to practice Ashtanga yoga. Ha…

Thank you for talking about your creative blockage. When you have a very task oriented job i think it sucks your creative side. A book marker what a great idea. It is good to start small. have a great day. Michele
