I recently found out my husband's employment is relocating him to the Orlando, Florida area. I am filled with excitement and nervousness at the same time. I have lived in New Jersey (besides a few years in NY for college) my entire life! I teach in the town I grew up. This has always been my comfort zone. Unfortunately, I allowed myself to get distracted, and feel like I have been muddling through day to day without reflecting on all the wonderful gifts I have to offer. Recently, my teenage daughter is struggling with girl bullying at school. I was able to give her some inspirational advice yesterday, which made me feel so good. This afternoon, I supported my daughter, by taking her to fundraise for her softball team. She was so scared to approach people, so I told her I would show her once and stay right with her, but she would have to be the one to approach people. I gave her the gift of courage today. All she needed to do was hand a flyer to the customers of a local store, and if they brought the flyer to the cashier, the store would donate 10% of the bill to her softball team. I haven't seen my brother since Christmas, so I was thrilled to receive a phone call from him to see if he could visit with his son and daughter. My kids were so excited to see their cousins. It is really sad that life seems to be so busy, that the people who are so close to you are the ones you put off until it has been months since you have seen them. I went out and bought lunch for my brother and nephew & neice. We had a great day together.
