On day 8 my boyfriend and I went to an area nursing home to visit a friend of his who is recovering from a fall. We took a game called Quiddler to play with her. It was wonderful, we played in their dining room and by the time we left we had added players, and spoken to many of the residents who wanted to know what we were playing. On day 7 I called my boyfriend and told him why I am so grateful he is in my life, this may not seem like much, however we have been struggling lately and have not told each other this in awhile so it meant a lot to him as well as myself. I also met a friend at the movies when she called up at the spur of the moment and we saw "Precious". Wow that movie really put gratitude in perspective. On day 5 I helped a co-worker with a project she was working on so that she did not have to do it alone. It feels great when you can give to others as a team it just makes the working environment (where I spend so much time) more enjoyable. On day 6 I met a friend for lunch, it was great to catch up with her and listen to what is going on in her life. On day 2 of my journey I spent some time with my grandmother who is homebound and gave a big hug. Since she spent so much time with me when I was growing up I try and see her as much as I can and even though she can no longer communicate verbally she can understand and give hugs. I also gave a $10 tip to a airport bus driver who took me to the airport, I believe people are traveling less and they make fewer tips now so I thought that might be helpful as we get closer to the holidays.
