Day Four: Christmas Love
This morning I enticed my husband to come back to bed....then served him coffee and made a killer mushroom Swiss omlet. Several gifts there....My son, who is 16, bought giflts for everyone--for the first time ever. This was an amazing gift to receive. And he loved his new IPod with the engraving "Never give up, Never surrender," one of his personal mantras. In the last few weeks, I've been increasingly intentional about giving. In the days before reading 29 Gifts, here are some gifts I offered: Helped push a car stuck in the snow with my friend Shannon. Bought a box of assorted feminine hygiene items for the women's room at work. Purchased the absolute, perfect gift for Carolyn even before I knew I would end up being her Secret Santa. Day Three: Holiday Traffic!

The traffic has been horrendous lately. Last weekend we got two feet of snow, which is unusual in the DC area. Holiday shoppers lost the last shopping weekend before the Christmas holidays because of the weather. They've been trying to make it up this week but the roads still aren't completely clear. On Day Two, my pervading thought is that this is all harder than it looks. I am giving and receiving all day long; what am I supposed to be focusing on? I can't quite figure it out.
