When I first began this challenge I noticed that my actions immediately began changing as I sensitised myself to moments where there existed a 'need' that could be filled (I'm sure I miss many of these opportunities, but I was at least I am on my way.) Tonight I pushed through my hesitation to ring someone who I do not usually call, to thank them for something they gave me (through someone else). I had to push my boundaries and it felt great.

Today's gift was the result of a little thought experiment. My work colleagues were organising to buy some sort of syndicate ticket for a very large lottery this week. I dont usually buy lottery tickets but I thought I may as well go along with the office flow and pitch in for a ticket. I then overhead another colleague saying he couldn't afford a ticket as they were a bit pricey and he just took on a large mortgage two weeks ago.

Very simple give for today- I decided that I will take a small stack of books down to the local charity store so they can find new homes (am just about to leave with them). Most of them have been sitting around for many, many years and I'm sure they could be having far more fun somewhere else.

Today I spent half an hour exploring my way around the underside of one leaf. Peering at this one leaf through a microscope was like going for a whole bush walk!!! I found all sorts of fascinating features, holes, oil glands and hairy bits.
