I kept thinking I was going until the end of the month! How funny. Well, day 29 was friday and I had an impromptu lunch with a favorite friend. It was spontaneous and quick, but delicious and so satisfying! We talked as fast as we could to get everything said. And my beet salad was SO good. I treated as my gift to her. I decided today to make my gift a membership to a Hula organization www.naleihulu.org. I lived in Hawaii growing up and still feel so connected to that culture. In the SF Bay Area there are a LOT of Hawaiians including music and dance groups. - I am looking to make 2010 a year of positive change. I am curious about the possibilities of 29 gifts. I'd like to make a difference and being a part of this will motivate me to do it consciously and regularly.

- I hope to bring hope, enthusiasm and motivation back into my life!

- My sister gave my mom the book for Christmas.
- About me:
- I am a naturally optimistic person, but last year my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer at the same time my niece was diagnosed with leukemia. Everything in my life shifted. I dedicated my time to my family and put my work aside for this. I was burned out with my business and it was an easy decision. My dad passed in April and my niece is working towards the end of her treatment in June and recovery. It was a tattered year and now one of recovery and renewal. I am looking for my new path. With my eyes opened., I want a more authentic life. I hope to give to others as a way to heal myself.

Day 27: Friendship in unexpected places

I had to go to the eye doctor today because my eyes have been red and painful. I have a past history of iritis (where my iris stuck open) so I go in at the slightest hint. When I had the initial iritis I was misdiagnosed for ten days. By the time I got to my current doctor I was in so much pain and the eye was a mess! He wasn't even sure it could be fixed. Today we were planning to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday for dinner. So after I picked the boys up from school we went to Wendy's to buy him a gift certificate. He likes to eat there for lunch so we thought it would be the perfect gift.
