Round 6 - Day 19 (Fri 5/4/12)
Gave myself the gift of getting the car to the shop as soon as I heard a squeak from the brakes & I feel really good about that... not dragging my feet. When my coworkers asked about my plans for the weekend, I seemed to be most excited about picking up the car and having used the opportunity to also get the whole 100,000-mile checkup done & we fixed a couple odds…

Did keep the giving going with freekibble.com for the shelter animals. This Round seems to have lost its spark in the middle after that run in with the meds & work is really taking a lot out of me, but I am going to let this little give count for now & if that's all, that's all.
Best to everybody--keep the fire!

Round 6 - Day 15
Gave myself the gift of a day home without guilt when I was not feeling well.
Kept the giving going with freekibble.com for the shelter animals.

Hi, Laura! Hope you're doing okay and that your days are full of love.
Thanks for getting back to me, Laura. I want to believe that some of those five dollars have got people thinking and giving themselves because that's one of the effects of 29Gifts. Now, to your latest blog and what you said, "Some days are diamonds; some days are stones. I guess". I love the way you've put that. In return I'd like to give you a thought I always keep in mind for when things are a bit rough. It takes a bit of grit to make a pearl.
Laura,
I've a lot of catching up to do so please excuse me if your blogs answer this question.
Has anything happened with your colleagues paying it forward. It's a long time now since you commented on what happened with the $5 bills
"OH! And wait till you hear this--Did you hear someone's been leaving $5 bills on the cars??? Holly got one & we thought it was just someone found it on the ground and thought it must have fallen out of her car, but then I got one too & that intern came in and said he had a $5 bill on HIS car the other day! What do you think about that!" .... "I know what I think about it--I think someone is paying it forward and I think we should keep it going!"
She wasn't quite sure what she was going to do with her $5, but she hadn't spent it yet because she wanted to think about how to make it important.
We'll see what happens with that.
So, back to my question......
Thank you~ xo
Have a beautiful day and week ahead~
Thank you Laura for reaching out to me. You are one extraordinary woman!
Love and hugs, Caryl
Dear Laura, Than you so much for your long consoling post to me. It was beautiful. It is such a challenge being sensitive in this world. I have felt this since a young child and I'm 65 now and the challenge of staying open and loving is hard at times. I will look into Samoan animal laws, my guess is that there are none but I will write to the resort owners and tell them I am investigating animal protection laws in Samoa and reporting the incident to WSPA who I worked with for years. They came to Samoa after the 8.2 earthquake and tsunami (I was there for that). If i can lay a police complaint I will. It's also hard for me to see into the perpetrator's heart, I was not taught to treat animals well, in fact my father was cruel to them. It seems some souls are more sensitive to life than others 'and it's not always what we are taught or not taught. The 25 year old man has children and I am concerned for them too knowing the link between animal and child abusers.
Laura thank you so much again. Caryl (in New Zealand)
Enjoy a lovely weekend, Laura!
Thanks Laura for your words of support re my Feb 8 - where's that darn cape post. A tough, tough battle that is taking its toll. Words of encouragement help. :)
