29 day completion today!

Hi my fellow givers!!I just wanted to tell everyone that I just finished my 29 day gift challenge and it was a mixed experience that I enjoyed very much and taught me a lot about human nature.  I had a couple of my gifts rejected, but, mostly they were very much appreciated!!  I think that I learned something about myself that I have so much to give.  I found that it takes the focus off of yourself and puts the focus on the greater good and gives you a sense of purpose!  Since I started, I have…See More

Homeless person

I am on day 13 of my gift giving and find great joy in the giving!! I must say I was left a little empty when I specifically bought some girl scout cookies with the intent to give to a homeless man on my corner. When I approached him and rolled down my window with the treat I was told "I guess it's better than nothing". It saddened me the lack of appreciation. I won't stop giving as it feels good for me. I guess the expectation of appreciation is something I will have to deal with.LaurieSee More

About me:
Married, one son age 21. Same job for 14 years as a recruiter. Helped a lot of people get jobs even without getting paid for it. Very satisfying to help people in need. Had a whole to fill for years and tried to fill it with material things and the whole kept getting bigger. Giving provides me with so much! People around me have noticed some special about me over the last year.
