Day 14

Well, I've been doing this for 2 weeks now. I haven't been perfect at it but yesterday I helped my sister move from a bad situation to a much better one and today I did some more moving. I also made breakfast for everyone this morning. I'm not a morning person! And then I was driving home this afternoon and thinking about how happy and energetic I was feeling. Feels great.

Dinner

Tonight I took part in one of the most amazing things I've seen. A much loved and very popular member in my local community has been ill and in the hospital from complications of swine flu. This community is just so amazing. We had a benefit dinner to help the family. The place was pretty crowded and the time and effort I put into it for the small part I played, came back to me at least double. I met so many interesting people and I felt so much better to have something simple and concrete to…See More

Day 2 - Feels great!

A neighbor's husband was hospitalized yesterday with complications of flu. Today I offered to spend time with the kids so she can take care of whatever needs to be done. I also spent some time helping one of my students get caught up. He was out of school for about a month with medical issues. I have to say it felt great. Now I'm sitting down to write a note to a student.

"What a beautiful way to be grounded and peaceful! I especially liked the idea of wearing it for 29 days and then passing it on. Kind of like the "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants". I loved that movie."

Giving to students

I teach 11-year-olds. Last year I wrote a note to every student at the end of the year. I was kind of kicking myself because it took me days to write all of those notes and think about what I wanted to tell each one of them. It became very stressful by the time I was finished with them all. But when I handed them out, I got such an amazing response! I knew I would do it again. This website has inspired me to do it in a different way this year. I'm going to write one note card each day. By the…See More

My First Day

I stayed home sick today. I rolled out of bed at the exact right moment to sit down and see the last few seconds of the interview on the Today Show. I was so intrigued that I did a google search to find out more and here I am! There are some new and wonderful things going on in my life right now and I can't wait to figure out how I can pass that on. I never thought I could feel grateful for being sick. :)
