Have been away from the site for a while...went storm chasing in June...this is my way of stress relief. My heart has found that it belongs in the Sandhill region of northwest Nebraska.
Difficult to explain the "pull" that area has on me...My heart, my soul longs for it until I return the next year.
The rest of my summer has been work and taking my "other"
Mom to Doctor appointments...trying to keep balanced...

It seems of late that my gifts have been of the abstract kind. Today was the same.A pair of friends are going through a separation after a dalliance outside the relationship by one of them.I love them both and cannot take sides. So I'm keeping myself open to support them both, which is a real balancing act. Trying to be there to listen, not to assign guilt, and hopefully help them move through this minefield. Yesterday my Dad and my "other" Mom were both sick and needed to go to see the doctor, but they had her granddaughter visiting for the weekend...My gift was to babysit while they were at the doctor's office...it was fun, she is a creative and imaginative 8 year old. Continue

you never know how you impact the lives of those around you. I work in a small, family owned nursing home...our residents become a part of our lives and become like family. This week I had to have "the talk" with a son and daughter about the fact that Mom was continuing to decline with multiple health problems causing more frequent hospitalizations with no improvement.
