Those are all wonderful gives Maria. I think everyone struggles with 'what is a give' at the start of this challenge, and we all end up learning what it is to us, because it is not the same journey for everyone. Don't devalue the gifts you already g…

Why I'm choosing to give:
I want to break my patterns of holding on so tight to money and material things. I believe in this movement and know that the world would be a much better place if everyone lived their life in this manner.
What I'd most like to receive:
The freedom that comes from unburdening myself from material things. Also, I want to live in abundance.
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?

Day 29 - Gifts to Hubby and Mom

So today is my 29th day...I want to begin this journey again but I am probably going to wait until after the New Year. Today my first gift was getting up at 4:30am with our little dachshund who had to go potty so my husband didn't have to get up because he was going to have to be up at 6 to got to work. He appreciated that! Then I headed up to my Mom's and I will spend a few days here with her helping her with laundry, grocery shopping, bathing etc. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season… Continue

Day 28 - Proof-reading a resume and Christmas cards

Today, I had much to do because I am leaving for the weekend to go up and help my Mom. But I took some time out to help a friend with her resume. I also mailed out Christmas cards. I haven't been doing that the last few years but I felt moved to do it this year. I wanted to let my loved ones know I was thinking of them.

I hope everyone's holidays are shaping up to be not too stressful!

Day 27 - Anonymous gifts

I guess I missed the memo at work that we weren't supposed to give gifts to each other. Found that out yesterday...no gifts this year. Well, since I had already bought stuff for people I gave my gifts anonymously...unwrapped and just set on their desks. It was kinda fun trying to figure out how/when to leave the gifts so I wouldn't be seen. It was also fun seeing people finding their gifts and wondering who gave them.

Day 26 - Condolences

My whole family participated in this give. We got a call from our friend Donna, whose Mom was our youngest son's babysitter for the first 4 years of his life. She told us that her Mom, Maxine, had passed away on Dec 10th. We were all saddened. She was such an amazing person! Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for her loving, nurturing care of my youngest son. But more than that I admired the way she lived life to the fullest. She embodied the motto "if you can't do anything about it, let… Continue

Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!

Mary

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar or our cute Gift Note to accompany your gifts.
