Day 28 and 29!!!

The day before yesterday I sent a text message to the woman who cuts my hair. She always makes me feel cared for and gives me a small gift each time I visit. Chocolate from her secret stash, shampoo, a recipe, a business card of someone she thinks I would like, a new restaurant to try, and this time she gave me the mousse she had just used on my hair. There was just a small amount left in the can, but she wanted me to try it. I told her I loved my hair cut! Next time I will remember to bring…See More

Jan 18th Day 18 I'm still here =)

I'm back wow, I was gone for three days, but I had this challenge in the back of my mind the whole time.On Saturday, I gave a friend a small 'match book' of seeds for his 50th birthday. He's a gardener. On Sunday, I gave the gift of extra driving so my Yemeni son could visit with some friends without anyone worrying about how to get him where he needed to go. I gave without an ounce of my normal begrudgery behind my smile.Today I gave my beautiful (inside and out) Yemeni son a card filled with…See More

Jan12 Day 12 My peace of the world .

I spent lots of time preparing gifts to send to my darlings all over the world, but this may not count as I actually did not 'give' anything to them yet. I definitely gave myself a lot of joy as I pondered each item.A small key with the word 'believe' on it for my future Iraqi son as we wait for each step to take place to get him to us. A small 'diary' to duplicate the one I have, to be given to my own dear son and my other Iraqi son. They will contain some of the quotes and wisdoms I have…See More

day 11 Jan11 receiving and givng

I think I am supposed to start over! Yesterday I was so sick that I barely got off the couch. I keep trying to think if something I gave with intention, but all I did was receive kindness and care from my husband. I don't want to start over, so I will increase my efforts this week to be very intentional and give with gusto..Today I decided to stay home again, but I had work to finish for someone else. So I did something rather out of character ( shhhhh, I am not as good at giving to Duluthians…See More
