Round 7: Day 13: Water Works

I really do have a deep love for my hydrotherapy sessions. Mainly because I am so in ore of my therapist. She is an amazing woman, and the best way to describe her is when she walks into a room her energy and presence is felt by the people surrounding the space and she attention is drawn to her. Not because she is the most beautiful woman in the world, she is not a super model, but her smile is so genuine and gentle that you gaze in wonder at her wise yet good face. No spiteful, viscous…See More

Round 7: Day 10: My Prayer Book

This website has given me so many vast new openings into different peoples lives and helpful thoughts they project towards others. Its been a blessing, and also an eye opening experience to the worldwide need for help and of receiving it. My dilemma is that no matter how many people I meet, I am placed in a situation where I cannot…See More

Round 7: Day 6: Home We GO!!!!!

So the end of the stay with my father finally arrived. Look, I don’t want to be a grouch, but it was a rather enduring time for me. During the actual stay, I managed to get through without too much of an emotional wobble, however when I finally arrived home my whole body just filled up to the brim with a build up of many unpleasant feelings of which I had no idea on how to release and let go. So I just went to my room, decided to watch an old movie on my laptop whilst snuggling on the bed, and…See More

Round 7: Day 5: Shatter, Share and Splash

I do hydrotherapy once a week, it’s a fantastic way to keep my circulation going and keep me active enough so that my heart rate goes up gives me a workout. It’s a miniscule swimming pool at a hospital in central Johannesburg. The basement level is used for physical therapy and rehabilitation; in which the have a small, dimmed room with what seems to be a giant bathtub, or more politically correct, heated, mini swimming pool. I adore my therapist and she makes me laugh and puts a smile on my…See More

Round 7: Day 4: Home Affairs

Everyone dreads the day that the word home affairs, comes up in the to-do list for the day. This is not something that comes up rather often, but when it has to be done, it really has to be done. So yesterday we woke up with the planned intention that we would go there and have our passports renewed and complete a few other tasks. As we entered that cold, concrete room, with jail like iron bared doors, an aura of stress just flooded me. Everyone was sitting there in total anxiety, nervously…See More

A Modern Family, Movies and a Magical Dinner

I must say, our whole family arrangement is a rather modern one, but I can say with confidence that I like it! My father and mother divorced many years ago when I was very young, at this point, my father has his new girlfriend of which I really like, she could be my slightly older sister in terms of age, but that doesn’t really bother me. Who am I to judge other peoples happiness? So yesterday we went happily to a very quaint shopping center, rather quiet for a public place, but very beautiful,…See More

ROUND 7: Day 1: Easter Favors

Where to begin; well, firstly I apologize for not being present for so long, it’s just that I needed to take some time for myself and learn to deal with all the complications my life has now entailed. Each day has a new twist to it, and I needed to take 3 seconds to focus my energy on learning to deal with it. In…See More

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
I have been diagnosed with CRPS, a rare chronic pain syndrome where my nerves have been damaged and slowly degenerate. I have been inspired by this idea, I want to move forward in my life and this seems like such a beautiful way to do it.
What I'd most like to receive:
Peace and acceptance in my household from all the frustration and anger that has built because of this. I would love to be able to lead a life that is happy to me and to, with time, heal physically as well as mentally and find someone who will love me, regardless of all my medical mishaps.
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
It was to referred to me by my best friend with fibromyalgia.
About me:
I am young and diagnosed with something that threw my whole life off coarse. I have decided that I must keep living, so I have created an awareness campaign for chronic pain and sell awareness bracelets to raise money. I am very interested in fashion, I work at fashion week and am a jewellery designer.

Round 7: Day 12: Friends with Everyone

Posted on April 22, 2012 at 10:30am 6 Comments

I'd spoken a bit with one of my best friends and we had gone shopping Saturday a week ago, which was absolutely lovely and we decided we wanted to go back on the Wednesday because there were a few things we wanted to pick up together. After finishing my therapy session first thing in the morning I came back home and we drove together, and went crazy around the shops.

We chose a beautiful mall, which has a whole outside area, and a large, clean piazza where you can your lunch or…

Round 7: Day 11: Pasta, People and Petrifying Movies

My younger sister has been on school holidays at the moment, they get a good 3 or 4 weeks over Easter time, which I must say, is very lucky for her indeed. Being the social bunny that she is, she gets very bored easily and she definitely needs constant stimulation, otherwise she turns so sour. She's also a young teen who goes out often and the problem with that is that its draining for my mother who has to drop off and collect all the time since Johannesburg isn't the safest place…

Hey Marina!!!

My weekend was great, my good friend Amira, a former classmate from university, came to visit. I took her to a concert with a musical artist, and we went to see a medieval monestery just outside my home town. We also went to a wine and cheese night at a friend's house. so all in all the weekend was a success. How was yours? I am so happy the mail arrived finally! I have not received anything from you yet, but I will keep you posted. Have a lovely week my beautiful and kind giving friend!!!! HUGSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marina,

Thank you for the beautiful Easter wishes.  It was short-lived since I had a gig that day.  However, I was sure to indulge in some Easter chocolates later that evening.  :)  Hope your Easter holiday was a great one as well.  Don't be a stranger (either here or on Facebook.)  :)

Cheers (and thanks again!)
