Day 13

I don't have any gifts that stand out from yesterday, other than the gift of a clean desk at work, the gift of organizing our Relay team, setting up new products in our little gift shop, and laughing instead of chastising when my maintenance employee told me the lights he just installed - don't work. ;-)I did invite Dad down for a long weekend here in TinyTown, though he was just here a few weeks ago, but since he sounded a bit cabin feverish and lonely, I extended the invitation, which he…See More

"My Relay isn't large in terms of people, but this year, we were FOURTH in the nation in per capita fundraising...we've been in the Top Ten for the last 10 years. We're small, but mighty! Thanks for friending me! :-)"

Day 11 & 12

Yay for a quiet weekend! Am feeling *much* better - flu bug is gone, side effects from quitting my meds cold turkey have mostly abated, and I'm still smokefree!Yesterday, my gift was to Zoe (and myself) - I took the puppers to the nearby state park for a hike through the woods. It was absolutely deserted, and I know Zoe enjoyed being "off leash" for a few miles (which never happens in my neighborhood or anywhere else, really). It was a nice change of scenery for both of us. :-)Today's gift was…See More

Day 10

Yesterday was that "catch up" day at work - filing, sorting through my mail, getting things to done. I love days like that!Towards the end of the day, I also worked on a "rah rah" letter (as I call it) to start getting the employees pumped about Relay - hope to start getting folks registered soon!My gift yesterday was to kidnap Zoe from home and bring her to the library for about 20 minutes to scamper around saying hi to everyone on staff. My little puppy is a charmer, that one. :-) In fact,…See More

Days 8 & 9

First, I have to say a huge public thank you to e2 for her donation to my Relay for Life effort! What a lovely give - thank you, thank you, thank you! :-)On Wednesday, I grabbed a fellow employee who was a bit bogged down in her work to accompany me on errands in the "big city" down the road - we shopped, we ate lunch, we shopped again, and we ate ice cream before returning to work. We didn't slack off, we didn't waste time, but it was nice to be away from the office for a few hours. She didn't…See More

4th in money is great. I have been at 4 different Relays and they all seem to be similar in procedure, but each has its own flavor. I usually do not stay all night any more. I am more involved with a local agency Cancer Care Services. They do awesome work for all cancers. I was on the board of a breast cancer nonprofit and when it got too much for only volunteer to handle Cancer Care partnered with us. Great load off my mind and I still get to volunteer! Win, Win. Have a great week.
