I love this story! This gift by the bank is so generous at a time when so many people are struggling. Your intuition led you to the right lane for you. You certainly deserve this lovely gift. Enjoy the food!

You Can't Out Give the Giver

With less than $xx in our bank account until the next paycheck, I knew how close it would be to get the few items I needed at the grocery this morning. Lunch meat, a loaf of bread, 1/2 gal of milk, a 12 oz bag of fresh broccoli and a bag of fresh oranges brought my total to just under $21. Heading for the checkout, I scanned which of the open checkout lanes to approach. Normally, I'll just take the shortest line. All lanes appeared to be full so I walked down to the very last open lane which is…See More

Day 12 - Remembering Aunt Ellie Marshall

Posted on November 16, 2009 at 2:59pm 2 Comments

This morning, November 16, 2009, Ella Marshall McCord Beasley, of Williamson County, TN, went home to be with the Lord. Born on May 21, 1913, the third child of Annie Morton Millard and Edgar Davis McCord of Williamson County, TN, Aunt Ellie was 96 when she passed. Aunt Ellie was one of 13 children and the last remaining child of her parents. Aunt Ellie was my favorite aunt because she was so fun to be around. Fun being a relative word, (no pun intended), she was firm and kindly at the same… Continue

Day 10 - The Red Head @ Target

Posted on November 14, 2009 at 2:05pm 4 Comments

I've been a DIY hair colorer for a number of years using the drugstore box kind of color. My dear sweet friend/stylist Karen, who owns a shop in Winter Park, Flordia, and where I've been going for 4.5 years, took pity on my hair several months ago and offered me a hair color deal I couldn't refuse. Using higher quality salon color, she tamed the flaming red that was my all too often result in the search for the perfect shade. Now, for the record, I am a blond with a little itty bitty bit of… Continue

On Friday, November 6, 2009, my first gift was to my friend, Brenda, who was visiting from Atlanta. I gave her a patent leather animal print pda case. I had recently received it myself but as I don't have a pda, it made a perfect pass along for my first gift.

On day… Continue
