Why I'm choosing to give:

guidance in launching my business- I want to help others learn to save money via classes & seminars.
I'd also like to receive more help around the house from my husband :)

Ladies Who Launch
About me:
I'm a SAHM & I'm in direct sales. I've learned a lot through others and want to help others learn to stay at home if they want to, or even just survive with the current state of the economy. I've been with my husband for almost 11 years, married for 4, and we have a wonderful -energetic!- 20 month old son who keeps me on my toes. I love them both- it has not always been easy, but I never expected life to be that way.
I am very dedicated to making my and others dreams become reality. I'm in Bay Shore, NY

Days 9 & 10

Posted on October 20, 2008 at 9:00am 0 Comments

Saturday was my cousin's baby shower- she was adorable! One of my gifts was a basket of baby care items and some bath related things from her registry. Another was a letter from the baby thanking the guests for coming to mommy's shower. I found some really cute stationary at the dollar store and remembered that someone had done that for me and how nice I thought it was.

But I think my best gift was giving my sisters a ride to and from the shower, otherwise they would not have been able to… Continue

Day 8

Posted on October 17, 2008 at 8:18am 0 Comments

Today was a very gifty day.

I gave a bag of baby shoes to someone. But it was more of a gift chain, because someone had given me the bag and all of the shoes were too small for my son. So off it went to someone who needed those sizes.

I also gave my mom's boyfriend a ride to work- I've been doing that a lot lately. They only have one car at the moment, and until they get another one, I'll keep helping.

Then, I gave my husband's grandparents a surprise visit.… Continue

Day 7

Posted on October 17, 2008 at 8:11am 0 Comments

I gave mostly little things, like holding the door for a stranger and hugs for my son. I gave my mom's boyfriend a ride to work, and my biggest give was dinnertime.

We had nothing in the house for me to make dinner with, and my *very hungry* husby came home from work. I asked him what he wanted to do, and he said "I don't know" and hopped in the shower. After a a minute of trying to figure out what I could make with rice and tomato sauce, I remembered we had a $25 gift card to a… Continue

Day 6

Posted on October 14, 2008 at 9:30pm 2 Comments

Today my gifts were more of what you might call prayer. Being that I do not belong to a "first testament" based religion, like Christianity, Judaism, or Islam, I don't call it prayer. I will go as far as to say I believe that there is a natural order and balance in the universe, and a person or group of people can change the energy flow around them by a concentration of thought (like prayer or meditation ) and action.

Today I dedicated thoughts to a girl I never met- the one who was… Continue

Day 5

Posted on October 13, 2008 at 6:05pm 3 Comments

Today I had no idea what I would give would be so important. It's funny how things fall in your lap!

I started out thinking about what I could give, after yesterday I felt as if I hadn't given enough. One of my sisters called and wanted to hang out. I had errands to run, so she came with me. While we were out we talked, and i told her about the 29-day giving challenge, and asked her if she might like to give it a try. Then I told her I hadn't figured out what to give today. She asked… Continue

Yeah sometimes if I've very low expectations for the day I wind up being pleasantly surprised! It also helps to be able to step back and laugh at myself now and then ;D
