Yesterday I brought one little baby raccoon home from the wildlife hospital to care for over the weekend. He is so lonely, but can't be placed with other raccoons until he has passed the quarantine period. I gave him a nice fluffy stuffed tiger to cuddle with (and climb on) in his carrier and I spent a lot of time with him, me sitting on the floor, and him in my lap. Yesterday I started my 2nd round of 29 days days, except that I lost the momentum after day 14 of round 1, so I'm really on round 1-1/2. I have a very close friend who is going through some hard times and I decided to take her to dinner. At dinner I told her about the 29Gifts Poetry Group's acrostic poem contest. Today I called a friend I hadn't seen in a while to see how she was doing. I invited her over and we sat out on the dock talking for a long while. I listened while she talked about what's going on in her life, and her fear of making a big change. I tried to ask the right questions to help her identify the source of her fears and to see that she can make any choice she wants and things will work out for her.

So today I finally got over to the beach with 2 plastic grocery bags and managed to fill both in an hour. I had a nice walk, got some awesome photos of pelicans diving for fish, and hopefully saved a bird or two from death by plastic. One man thanked me for picking up trash. Then as I was ducking to avoid a fishing line, the fisherman said, "Don't worry, you're fine." Then he added, "You've very fine." I almost burst out laughing because I'm close to twice his age.
