This is a really quick post today, since I'm off to work soon, and I have just enough time to prepare my gift.



I'm baking cookies for a coworker. They are a gift of gratitude. Last week, we had a wonderful conversation. We spoke for hours. It was the night shift and things were very quite at work, so we visited. It wasn't your average conversation. I felt like this person really cared about what I thought and what I was feeling. This afternoon and evening, I attended two holiday functions that I normally would have avoided. This is a really big deal for me. All week I've been putting myself out there instead of staying home alone. Giving the gift of my presence at these events has been very good for me, and seems to have made a difference to those I shared the time with.

Today I gave my 29 Gifts book to a friend. She had ordered one that has yet to arrive, but couldn't wait to start reading it. We agreed that once she gets her copy, she will gift the extra book to another person to spread the message/spread the gifts.



I also purchased extra food items at the grocery store to drop in the food bank donation box. Then, I took all the coins in my purse and some ones and placed them in the Salvation Army kettle on the way out.

I'm a giver......always have been. But, when the tables turn and it's time to receive, I falter. Perhaps it is a reflection of a lifetime of feeling unworthy. Although I've grown tremendously in this area, I still struggle with my self worth when it is my turn to receive. Overcoming this struggle is one of the main hopes that I came to this challenge with. Today, I had the opportunity to put it to the test.
