My give today was an email to my mother of 20 things I love about her. We have a pretty superficial relationship and have never been very affectionate or demonstrative. She's extremely generous and helpful to me, and I feel like our relationship primarily consists of her helping me. Does It "Count"?

I know the answer is yes.
My gift today was helping my friend watch after her son at his birthday party while she fulfilled hostess duties.
I wanted to bring her a physical gift. But my son napped late, we left late for the party, it was about to storm, and my funds are super-tight this week.
So being on toddler duty at the party was the best gift I could think of.

Today I've had a few episodes of planned giving.... the offertory at church, a donut for my son, a gift for a 2-year old's birthday party.
But it doesn't feel like giving. Not in the 29 Gifts sense.
I think the giving I've done today have felt expected or even obligated.
And I don't think the gifts were given in the true spirit of giving.
Today might be a "give a phone call" sort of day. Nothing else has inspired me thus far.
