LOL - I gave my book away and miss it, too, so I've got several more coming my way to keep and give as gifts. I love that you gave the book to your doctor. My mom and I both have doctor appointments coming up, so I think I'll pick up a…

Why I'm choosing to give:
Giving for me is not a choice. It is a necessity as essential as breathing. I am, however, interested in the idea of a movement of giving, of kindness. This is one bus that I don't want to miss!!!!!
What I'd most like to receive:
Confirmation of the concept that just one little thing can make an impact..a smile can brighten a day. A penny is the difference between a millionaire and just another rich person. I plan on enjoying being a part of a community that is willing to take small steps to find our humanity.
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
Saw Cami on the Today Show. Read the book.
About me:
Female, 50-something. Single. Retired. Care provider for my dad. Christian, Diagnosed with MS in 1987, Addicted to being nice. Poor as a church mouse and as rich as Midas would describe my living situation. Not a whole lot to spare, but loving life.

Angel? Hero?

Posted on November 13, 2009 at 1:30pm 4 Comments

Yestereday, a friend and I had lunch, laughed alot about the old days, and, in general, relaxed. On the way home, I stopped at a Dairy Queen to pick up a package of Dilly Bars for my dad. I had already fulfiled my "gift obligation" for the day, but the lunch had put me in an especially good mood and Dad does love Dilly Bars. A young boy and his even younger sister were standing at the counter. No adults in sight. I couldn't exactly hear the exchange between the clerk and the boy it was pretty… Continue

A Prescription for Doc

Posted on November 6, 2009 at 11:16pm 3 Comments

Saw my neurologist today...we have a great relationship. So, he comes in with his brand new resident doc and I had already decided to make this visit special. I handed him a copy of 29 Gifts and gave him a very abbreviated version of the story and then challenged him to add 29 gifts to his arsenal of medicines. Of course this does mean that now I have to buy a new book, but it's well worth it.

Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar or our cute Gift Note to accompany your gifts.
