Patricia, My son's godfather is a lover of all things story-like. When he was on sabbatical in Africa he printed out and sent my son many African stories and we treasure each and every one. Your post today touched my heart.

The Gift of Stories

One of my favorite items to give or to receive is a GOOD STORY In a book, movie, shared conversation, recommendation, memory from childhood, or other, the source is not so important as the match to either a need for understanding, challenge, inspiration, or information. Often, I tell or share stories just to touch the life of another person with friendliness and/ or a new perspective that might change an outlook of gloom to a brighter one of hope. The really exquisite characteristic about a…See More

Coincidence that I found this website today? I don't think so! Today I invited a friend to attend an evening service featuring a speaker who survived the holocaust, and then we supplied a ride to another friend to the same event. It was a gift…

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
It has been on my mind a lot lately--even before I saw the site for 29 gifts. What a divine coincidence to find a community of others to participate with! One of the things I was thinking was that if THINGS have too much of a hold on us, our hearts will not be free. Therefore, giving what is most precious to us away (thoughtfully and lovingly) will invest in others and rocket-launch us with energy to be set free from the love of things.
What I'd most like to receive:
Healing in relationships, opportunities to be a blessing in others' lives with the comfort with which the Lord has comforted me.
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
"stumbled" upon it when looking up another site
About me:
Married to same special guy for 38 1/2 years, have 7 children and 6 grandchildren. The drama involved in those very undescriptive words would fill novels and soap operas. Through the trials, however, the Lord has been always faithful, good, and merciful and is still working out His will in very mysterious ways.
Do you agree to read and follow the 29Gifts Code of Conduct once you join our site?
yes
