Day 16: Gave my in-laws help. Father-in-law had knee surgery this week, and they needed a recliner we'd been storing in our house. Helped load it here, and unload it and get it into the house there. Day 17: Gave my daughter help cleaning her room,…

Scouts are so important. And your help is a BIG GIVE. My husband is an Eagle and I have so much respect for that. My son is deaf and he is trying to get his Eagle, too. A few boys in our den have made EAGLE and they have all gotten scholarships to c…

Great job on taking on another round. Have to thank you for all the comments you leave, it's wonderful encouragement to me.
December 4, 2009
Encouragement is a great give. I'll have to make sure I remember to give that more often myself.

Great seeing someone else moving on to round 2. I'm still in my round 1, but hope to continue with further rounds as well. I haven't done too many 'gives' to myself, but I'm recognizing that they have to be included in the mix, or at least I need to…

All great gives, but as a parent, I know how nice that afternoon away can be. I love my kids, but sometimes a few hours away from them can be amazing, and can really help recharge the batteries a bit.
December 4, 2009
Great give. One I should probably duplicate for PBS and NPR around here.

Wonderful give! I suspect this is one book that can give a lot. Heck, I haven't even read the book and it's helped me.

Fun and productive gives. Also, in case I hadn't said it before (I've not been commenting for a few days) great job on going for a 2nd Round. Though I'm having some rough days this round, I think this is a worthwhile Idea and hope to continue additi…

I am finding that the challenge has me taking the time to realize that when doing things I 'would have done anyway', I am frequently giving of myself. And while like you, on a day when those are my only gives I get a little down on myself, I'm start…

Day 12 - Day 15

Really don't feel like I've managed to give much this week after feeling really good about how things had gone over the Thanksgiving weekend.

I've done so little I can't really justify listing out the days seperately.

Biggest give over the 4 day stretch was the time I gave running the Cub Scout Den Meeting. Taught the kids a couple of games, one was kind of a bowling/golf thing where I had them roll tennis balls into boxes of different sizes and different distances, while the other was like sh… Continue

Day 9 - Day 11

I had wanted to keep doing these daily, but life has gotten in the way a little bit so I'll break my updates for the past week down a little bit. Wish I'd done a better job at jotting some notes down for myself.

Day 9 - Friday November 27

Gave the gift of..generations/traditions/family. My dad always made 'ham spread' from leftover ham. Nothing complicated, just finely chopped ham with some mayonaise, chopped onion and celery can be added if you like. Well, I made this and shared some with my… Continue

Day Eight - Thanksgiving Day

So easy to give yesterday. Heck, it was right in the name of the day ThanksGIV(E)ing!

Of course I gave thanks. For my family, friends, health, and the fact that we can afford to put food on our table. I gave thanks for the land and the trees and the sun and the sky and the moon and the stars, and probably a few things I'm forgetting about this morning. Here's a link to a little pictorial version of my… Continue

I haven't began giving yet, either. Although I did just start a blog à la "National Novel Writing Month," but a knock off of it (http://makeshiftnovelists.wordpress.com) so maybe that counts as giving because I'm trying to get people to write a novel alongside me? The gift of creativity? Hmm, what do you think?

Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar or our cute Gift Note to accompany your gifts.
