As many of you probably already know, there was a big push on blogs, Facebook and Twitter to rename today Generosity Day and to do random acts of kindness. - My father and I just started 5,000 Well Wishers, a fundraising page for Charity:Water. Our goal is to see how the small act of a $5 donation and 5 friends can grow to supply Charity:Water with enough money to build 5 wells and bring water to 1,250 people. Seeing a child in need breaks my heart. Knowing that I can help in some small way helps heal it.

I have a very low maintenance hair cut and choose to go to Great Clips instead of a high price salon for my cut. However, even Great Clips appears to be suffering in this economy, which means the stylists (who always do a great job cutting my hair) are too. So today I decided to tip my hairstylist 100%. This is a give that I think I will continue to do as I am still paying much less for my haircut (even with the 100% tip) than I would be if I went to one of the salons around here.

It was all about the ladies today! First, I got my Girl Scout Cookies and then I went through my old work clothes and donated skirts and accessories to Dress for Success after being reminded about this wonderful organization from a friend's Facebook post.
Day 27 Cutters and molds

Used to have a blast making sugar cookies and candies with my daughter when she was younger, but now the cookie cutters and candy molds were just sitting unused in a basket. Now that my daughter has an infant daughter all her own and likes to "bake" with her, I have gathered up the molds and cutters to send to her so that they can make some great memories of their own.

i read all sorts of stuff as the mood strikes me. i just finished reading Hunger and Happiness by L Shannon Jung which was really thought provoking. i have at least 20 books stacked up waiting for me :-D we have a book club here on 29 Gifts if you want to check it out.
