Yes, I neglected this site for a while. It was one of my gifts to you, the dear public. A whole month of not listening to me ramble. :) In all seriousness, I didn't post anything because I was focusing my energy on the giving and not on the blogging…

It's my first day here. I found a link to this site buried in the news feed of my Facebook. That it caught my attention among the usual status updates and Farmtown requests is a minor miracle. But, here I am. This is a good site for me. I believe it…

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
I'm joining as a way to help myself overcome materialism. I think we've lost sight of many important things in this country. Each holiday season, I feel sadder because I see how much "stuff" means to people. A very wise person told me that we care too much about the stuff we get rather than the people we're giving to.
What I'd most like to receive:

Still a tree.

Yes, I neglected this site for a while. It was one of my gifts to you, the dear public. A whole month of not listening to me ramble. :) In all seriousness, I didn't post anything because I was focusing my energy on the giving and not on the blogging. That, and I use my phone for the internet A LOT and this site was a bit of a pain in the butt for my meager phone (original EnV - total dinosaur) to handle.

But...here I am. Hope the Christmas/Holiday/Yule/whateveryouwanacallitbecuaseitdoesn'toffen… Continue

It's Black Friday. Anyone who knows me can tell you that I loathe this day. I loathe what it stands for. I've been called out on my stance - was even called a communist AND a nazi the other day. I dislike the rabid consum… Continue

Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar or our cute Gift Note to accompany your gifts.

I was shocked as I said. It was a local library book club and even the librarian called the book whiny and greedy. It was interesting how people can put a nagative spin on anything. I definately learned so much about my own attitude and how it appea…
