Day One
Well, I sayed home with my 17 year old daughter today on a rainy Sunday. My gift today is to her, I promised to her that I will always be positive and supportive about her father and his wife, to never say anything negative and to leave the past where it belongs. This will make her life easier and make it easier for her to talk to me openly without worrying that I may disapprove. God ..... It's gonna be hard ;-) but her feelings need to come first.
Day Two
I'm realising how this can become quite obsessive! I've spent a whole lot of time today working out how and who I can give to and it feels good.... cheesy but true! My gifts today were that I went out of my way to drop something off for my daughter that she would want this week, she's quite ditsy! I also gave to a work colleague's sponsored charity marathon, I'd seen the emails going around for weeks but never really gave it a second thought if I'm totally honest! So I went online and pledged. My gift to myself and my health today... I think that it's also important to reward and 'gift' yourself, was a long long run in the cold, now I feel a million dollars and able to get through tomorrow at least. Exercise keeps me sane (ish!) Happy Monday x
Day Three
What a day!! Today my give was a big one! My work was cancelled for the day and a colleague of mine who is now on holiday for two weeks has to, at some point before December, drive an 8 hour round trip to upload some software at a hospital in the middle of nowhere. The upload takes 20 minutes but the drive is awful and he had been joking that if I had the time would I but he never expected me to. So I did it! I set off at 10am in the driving English rain and got home at 8pm!! But it's done and it's his gift from me when he returns from his hols. x
Day One AGAIN!!!
Hi Guys, I'm Back! I seemed to fall off the edge of the world for a while, got lost in work, a crazy relationship and I suppose the old self absorbed busy life. But I'm back and I'm trying again to make a difference. I did actually manage a lot more than 3 days last time but never found the time to update and you know how it goes. My give today is that my daughter ( who is now 18 and living with me again after I moved to help her out and be around for her) works evenings to fit around her college and is working til 11pm so I am going to pick her up. I also cut some house keys and gave them to my folks, it's quite a gesture for me as I am trying to build relations with them at the moment, you never know how long they will be around, even if they do drive you crackers sometimes! ;-))
I have been motivated to come back to this as a work colleague was murdered last month at 32 and it makes you think doesn't it? What am I doing here? Do I make a difference or add to peoples lives? It can't just be work, bills and trying to socialise, so here I am, looking forwad to reading and catching up on all your blogs xxx

Actually going well, although I don't seem to be able to update my blog. Yesterday sponsered a child in South East Asia which I've wanted to do for ages.

Looks like we've started this challenge at the same time! Wow your first gift was a really big one but sounds like it will be really worthwhile. I'm trying to think of things to give that are meaningful and this is a real inspiration!
