I'm sooo confused as to what my gift was yesterday! My son came home from daycare on Tuesday with a fever and I've been taking care of him, dealing with 100+ degree weather, and trying to calm a very excited daughter who has a birthday coming up this weekend. The days are starting to smear together. - Why I'm choosing to give:
- One of my friends has had a very difficult pregnancy and it all ended with a serious blood disorder that prevented her blood from clotting, thus making delivery of the baby very dangerous. Her difficulties have made me realize I blessed and wonderful my family and children are and that I need to do more to help others instead of trying to keep everything for myself.
- What I'd most like to receive:
- Hmmm....I haven't really thought of that, but I believe it just came to me. What I want more than anything in the whole world is to feel happy with who I am. I want to love myself and accept myself instead of trying to seek "perfection".
- How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
- I was searching the library e-book collection for something I could listen to on my iPod while I run. This book happened to be available, the title sounded interesting, and I thought I would give it a go.
- About me:
- I am a wife, mother of an 8 year old girl (who is going on 17) and a 4 year old boy. I teach Kindergarten in a school full of hardworking and dedicated people. I enjoy cooking (though I don't because I'm too tired during the school year and it's too hot in the summer), creating videos using my computer, working on ways to improve my teaching, and EXERCISE!

Today I had the patience to bleach and blue streak my daughter's hair. She really wanted her blue streaks again for her birthday. The initial thought of 45 minutes to bleach and 20 to blue didn't thrill me, but then I decided that this is the closest to a "girl" thing that she gets and that I should enjoy the time with her as a gift to myself and her gift is two lovely blue streaks in her hair....I even have one (it will wash right out of my hair and I hid it under my…

Today my boy still had the slight fever going for him so he couldn't go to the beach with his sister and her friends. He was pretty bummed.
Instead I helped him plan a "picnic" lunch which we ate together under the tree in the backyard. He was thrilled and didn't even care that his sister got to swim all day. He just kept bragging that he got to have a picnic with mom.
