Day 4 & 5

I suppose money is becoming one of the harder things for me to give right now because I am unemployed, but also more emotionally intimate things and things given in a social way are hard for me because of social anxiety. I'd love to volunteer for example but I'm still too anxious to do so. I suppose I could work exposure therapy into my gift giving and work up to giving the most uncomfortable thing for me to give (volunteer hours, socializing) on the last day, but I don't know if that would fit…See More

Fell Out

I stopped giving a few days ago. I lost steam when I ended up giving so much the day before Thanksgiving. I really questioned myself - I felt like I was trying to make it a competition and I was doing the challenge the wrong way. Then, with self-doubt in the picture, I lost interest.I'll start back up tomorrow. I'd really like my gives to be spontaneous and responsive instead of premeditated, but I suppose that's me trying to do this the "right" way. I'll see what happens.See More

Day 8 - Happy Thanksgiving : )

I helped put together an amazing Thanksgiving dinner, played a game of Rummy with my grandmother and siblings, and gave my sister some help translating French text on her Hello Kitty video game.

I love reading your blog. It must be great to be so close to your Grandmother. I was never able to connect with either of mine. But my son has an incredibly close relationship with my Mother. He is actually living with my parents while attending college. So I am grateful that he has the relationship that I was never able to achieve. You have some really great gives on your blog. Thanks for sharing and happy giving!

Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar or our cute Gift Note to accompany your gifts.
