Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
Because that is why Spirit brought me here. That sounds corny ... but I am most happy when I am giving to others. It doesn't have to be B-I-G ... it just has to be.
What I'd most like to receive:
Grace, peace and happiness.
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
My husband sent me an email with the link

Day 7

I'm collecting coats!!! I'm sure my husband and I are no different from most families. You open the hall closet and cannot get one more piece of anything in there .... because of all the jackets and coats. I counted in our downstairs hall closet alone this morning and there are 12 jackets and 1 coat in the closet!?!?! And only two of us live here!!! This does not include the bedroom closets either! Little Miss Angel (our 3 yr. old standard poodle) hangs her gear out in the garage .... so we… Continue

Day 6

I reconnected recently with a friend of mine I haven't heard from in several years. We've been emailing back and forth and tracking each other on Face Book trying to find out about our 13 lost years!!. On Day 4 when I let my friends on FB know about the 29 Day Giving Challenge, MOF wrote to me and said this might be just what she needed. She had been feeling kind of down and lost lately. We finally connected by phone on Day 6 and had quite the catchup, what's new, omg the kids are how old???… Continue

Day 5

Posted on November 11, 2009 at 5:41pm 1 Comment

Today was a fun day! It's Veteran's Day and we want to say a huge "thank you" to all of our service men and women who are doing what they do ... so we can enjoy the freedoms available to us and live the lives we do. We honor you and appreciate you! I even got to talk with my nephew who is in the Air Force stationed in Ohio today.

So kind of keeping along that line ... we "zero'd in" on our local Fire Department!! More homemade chocolate chip cookies!! Angel and I treked up to the… Continue

Day 4

Posted on November 10, 2009 at 6:51pm 1 Comment

This is a great example of why a "calendar of to do's" just won't work all the time!!! Had a really great idea for my "challenge" for today ... but ran out of time! So we regrouped and chose today to share our "29- Day Giving Challenge" and our blog with all my Facebook buddies. That's my gift to the world today! And I'm OK with it!

Help Us Grow: Please help spread the word. We're striving to reach our goal of 29,000 committed givers, and you can help: Send this Invitation to friends, write about the challenge and include a badge or our video on your website, blog, facebook, or myspace page.

The book 29 Gifts: How a Month of Giving Can Change Your Life - authored by 29 Gifts founder Cami Walker is now in stores. You can also buy through Amazon.

Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar or our cute Gift Note to accompany your gifts.

The trick is in what one emphasizes. We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves happy. The amount of work is the same. ~ C.C.
