I caught the happy virus last night
When I was out singing beneath the stars.
It is remarkably contagious -
So kiss me.
At This Party
I don't want to be the only one here
Telling all the secrets -
Filling up all the bowls at this party,
Taking all the laughs.
I would like you
To start putting things on the table
That can also feed the soul
The way I do.
That way
We can invite
A hell of a lot more
Friends.
It Felt Love
How
Did the rose
Ever open its heart
And give to this world
All its
Beauty?
It felt the encouragement of light
Against its
Being,
Otherwise,
We all remain

Frightened.

Happen if God leaned down
And gave you a full wet

Friendship

In the last week, I made it a special point to do something outstanding (for me at least) in the area of friendship. I took a two hour drive to visit a coworker friend from long ago, who is now a widowed Mom of a 5 year old boy. The boy has some issues too, so he is not an easy child to raise. Her husband passed away, from heart issues, without any warning about two years ago. She is doing everything she can to keep the family business running… Continue

What a Beautiful Day!

After a couple of stressful weeks, I was blessed with the opportunity to spend Memorial Day weekend in Yosemite national park. This was a healing balm for my tired mind and stifled heart. Worst Parent in the World

Somewhere out there is a plaque with my picture on it and the words "Worst Parent in the World" stamped in gold leaf on it. I've actually managed to win this award two weeks in a row now!! LOL!

Another Santa Barbara Wildfire

My daughter is going to college down in Santa Barbara and for the second time this school year, I left work early to drive down and get her and pull all of her stuff out of her dorm room. I was down there last thursday in 101 degree heat, with large plumes of the fire spreading a couple of miles away and lots of smoke in the air.
