Hi, Stephanie. I wondered if you still dropped by these pages once in a while. I hope you do. Cami has touched so many people here and there are so many inspiring stories to read. I hope that you enjoyed the challenge enough to continue in some way. Joy and happiness to you.

Day 29--End of my jouney--or just the beginning??

Posted on January 12, 2009 at 2:43pm 5 Comments

Well--I have made it to the 29th day. Today's give was relatively simple--a bigger than normal for the guy delivering our yummy Chinese dinner. I fullfilled the challenge and now is the time to reflect. Hmmm, what did I learn? I think I learned that I am truly a giver at heart, but this exercise made me be more intentional and reflective. It also made me see that many times I had the opportunity to give and didn't. Why?? Maybe out of my comfort zone, or the moment passed to quickly without… Continue

Day 28--party time

Posted on January 10, 2009 at 7:07pm 2 Comments

Today was my 5 year olds birthday party with his friends. It had a pirate theme and was actually a little harder than I thought to pull together. It seems that since the Pirates of the Caribbean movie has been out for such a long time, the stores have moved onto other party themes--so I ended up having to make many of the decorations. 7 of his friends came over and we had crafts, games and some cake. It is hard to classify this as a "give" per se, it was for my son afterall. But my sweet… Continue

Day 27

Posted on January 9, 2009 at 3:50pm 6 Comments

Today I bought coffee for myself and my Dad and went to visit him at his home for a little over an hour. We just chatted and drank. He really enjoys the company and I just have to quiet my head and let him ramble and it makes everyone happy. I don't know why it is so hard for me to make that time for him--I am the only family he has here in town. Sometimes it just seems overwhelming to set that time aside and know that I will probably be hearing the same stories over and over again. I keep… Continue

Day 26

Posted on January 9, 2009 at 3:47pm 5 Comments

Sometimes it is so hard to classify things as gives if they were things I would normally do, or if I receive something in return.....Today was a busy day at our house. The two rescheduled Christmas programs were held and were terrific. My camcorder crapped out during the first one (this machine has been on the edge for quite sometime and finally went kupuht). So, I unfortunately didn't capture the first son's show. Right after that show, we sprinted off to Sears where I bought a new camera. Son… Continue

Day 25--Christmas once again

Posted on January 8, 2009 at 8:57pm 4 Comments

Well, as you have all been hearing my griping about all our snow(which is now all gone!!), both of my son's Christmas programs had to be rescheduled for this week. My give was to make a big platter of cookies for the evening show. I had signed up to do it back before the holidays, and fulfilled my obligation with some yummy raspberry almond bars. Not a huge give, but I think well received.
