Day Four: Where is the snooze button?

Posted on December 23, 2009 at 5:28pm 2 Comments

So how do you give when it is difficult? When you may very well feel the person is undeserving for whatever reason. How do you give with an open heart when your heart is closed?

Woke up this morning at 5:30 a.m. when my daughter pointed out that the sun was coming up. I was aware of this but exhausted and after a futile attempt to convince her to sleep. As I wiped the sleep from my eyes I stumbled to put together some food for her. Once she ate she informed me she was ready to head… Continue

Day Three: K.I.S.S

Woke up and the giving just kept coming. It is amazing how is it is when you Keep It Simple. First thing today I sent off an e-card to a friend who has been going through a lot personally. Day Two: Sunny Day

To take advantage I crept out of bed, trying hard not to wake my daughter. I put on my swimsuit, my walking clothes and sneakers and off I went. The amazing thing about the community I am living in here in Barbados… Continue

Day One: Songs of Freedom

“Won’t you help to sing this song of freedom- cause all I ever have: redemption song.” On the first week of a five week holiday in Barbados, with my daughter and her extended family that lives here, could make me the envy of many. Yet I came with a heavy heart and a purpose. My purpose is to make enough room within me to begin to breathe again. I began my days here by devouring the 29 Gifts in 29 days book that I had packed along with my baggage, both the… Continue
