Chest of Drawers

Today, hubby Brian and I were sorting out stuff for the dump and Brian suggested we throw out an old chest of drawers. True, they were a bit scratched and had a couple of handles missing. And there was a loony-sized burn mark on the top from a candle, but I was reluctant to part with them. They were the first major purchase I made when I arrived in Canada from Scotland umpteen years ago. And the maple wood was still lovely (despite the few scars).

3 Days of Giving

On Sunday I invited friends for lunch. Darren's parents were over visiting from England so I happily included them in the invitation. We had a lovely afternoon and really enjoyed meeting his mam and dad.

Yesterday my husband borrowed my laptop. He has a desktop pc and has always insisted he didn't need anything else. It struck me that he doesn't feel right about spending money on a laptop for himself. So (I know, you're way ahead of me on this one) I found a refurbished one on ebay… Continue

Loose Change

Day 3 - inspiration hit. Days 1 & 2 were fine, but it's easy to be kind and have that count. Day 1 I helped my 20 yr old son with his laundry before he left home. Day 2 was a bit more challenging - remembering to be kind to the stranger who stopped me from my gardening task just so he could share his wisdom (and opinions) with me. But in truth, I didn't behave in any way different from the norm, and I wondered what could I do different - better.
