- Why I'm choosing to give:
- I just think this is a wonderful project. On my way to work I notice a homeless person's belongings folded and placed neatly in bags under a near by viaduct and I have been wanting to stop and leave a scarf, hat or gloves but have been afraid to try it. Maybe this will give me the courage to do the kind acts that just come to me. I work in a low income neighborhood and some days what you see just makes you want to cry.
- What I'd most like to receive:
- Mostly I want for others. I want my younger brother to find health and happiness along with a job after his 29 year marriage ended. I want my daughter and her family to be happy and quit finacially struggeling. For myself I just want to be happy both at home and at work and if somebody wants to take this extra weight away from me they are welcome to it. It's become a health hazard. Maybe 2010

- About me:
- I'm 50 have one child who has given me five beautiful grandchildren. I work for a college in Illinois and am lucky enough to work for TRIO programs and we have fifty HS age students that attend our classes twice a month. They are great kids. I just recently returned to the college life myself this year. I help care for my mom, her disabled husband and mine. I also volunteer one night a week at a local theater so I get to watch most Broadway shows for free.

Day 4 and 5

Day 4: It's after the holidays and I really don't feel like leaving the house. It'll be back to work before you know it. I decide to stay in. I make a few phone calls to family members and friends I know can't get out. I'm good at the listening gift. Always had it. I offer leftovers to the single mother and her little girl next door. I try to take my mind off of my own problems. I finally call my friend (I refer to him as my brother from another mother) and tell him I will finally attend his… Continue
Day 3 Black Friday Turns Bright

Day 3 into the giving. My daughter dragged me out when she knows I'm not a shopper (espechially Black Friday). We decided to call my mom ( her grandmother) and meet her for lunch. Our treat. There we go giving out of the way except for all those bell ringers but that's another story. However, the best of my day is yet to come. Days 1 and 2

Day 1 was the day before Thanksgiving and beleive me I wasn't in the Holiday Cheer mode. My younger brother's depression is like a bad infection and it just oozes over everyone near him. The more I pray for him the more I am attacked. We had gotten into a huge argument the night before. Anyway with little sleep I went into work but before I did I stopped for my first gift.
