Today-Oct. 13th

I drove my car 25 mile round trip to help a friend move her paintings out of a gallery. Her show was over and she needed an extra person and vehicle to get them back to her home. My boyfriend was with me. While i was there, I was given two $20 tickets to go to a fundraiser- billion dollar Bag Benefit. I was thrilled.

Today is day 9 of my 29 days of giving challenge. On my last comment, I visited my daughter who lives 90 miles away. On the way, there was a NPR fundraising show for our local NPR station. I called in and pledged. Not 5 minutes later, I received a speeding ticket for going 10 miles over the speed limit. It felt like a slap in the face in a way, yet at the same time, I felt that i was becoming too self-righteous or smug. I quickly dropped that thought and realized it really was my fault for not paying attention and couldn't attach my giving to my ticket. I now have miserable cold though it hasn't stopped my giving mode. Tomorrow I will be well enough to go to a fundraiser I am looking forward to. I also received a call for an interview for a job I've wanted for a long time. Wow.

Today is 4 of my 29 day giving challenge. I am amazed at how much I give without any thought. Today, I am driving 90 miles to see my eldest daughter and the grandchildren. On the way, I am picking up her dog who has been staying at her Grandma Jo's. This dog gets to visit Jo once a month and stay for a week. He is like one of the grandkids. Anyway, I find giving to a be a natural part of living.
