Went to another part of the U.S. to help a beloved family member who was ill. It was a huge challenge in many ways, but so worth it. My family member is doing much better now, and I feel stronger and more capable from my experience helping her and the rest of my family of origin.

I took some food and supplies to drop off at a food bank at a church, to donate. When I got there, a group of Congolese refugees were meeting upstairs, having Congolese food that an immigrant minister and his wife brought, and visiting. They welcomed us (Nolan was with me), and I gave the food and supplies to them. They hugged us and said a group prayer for us to thank us. Gave a baby crib we are no longer using to a couple through FreeCycle. They were excited to get it, and I was so happy they could use it and enjoy it now that Nolan no longer needs it. They are about to have a baby girl.

Gave my husband a haircut.

Went to a friend's book signing to support her and be a friendly face in the audience. (And to enjoy her reading!) She was great, and there was a nice crowd. Excellent local bookstore, too, Book Woman in Austin, Texas. Bought an extra copy of my friend's book to send to another friend in San Francisco, who I guessed would enjoy it as much as I am.



Packaged the book for my friend in SF and got it in the mail.
