Day 4--Helping a friend in need

My gift for today is cash for a friend who has fallen on hard times with this recession. I'll put it in the mail today along with a small Christmas gift.

Day 3--My anniversary and my niece's birthday

Today is my 15th wedding anniversary and my niece's 25th birthday. Today I give my love and commitment to my husband which in turn is a commitment to our daughter, to keep our family together and strong. I also sent a note to my niece wishing her a happy birthday and telling her how much I have enjoyed watching her gow into a strong and beautiful woman. I am so fortunate to have all of these people as my family!

Today I sent a brief and sincere email supporting a friend with whom I have had problems. I am hoping to bolster her self-esteem, and make ammends for my past misdeeds. I really hope it helped!

I read about this movement on CNN.com and thought, "why not?" This may be just what I need and perhaps I can help a few folks. So for my first day of giving, I took my daughter's REI polartec jacket that was only worn a few times to a man I know that runs the local homeless shelter and asked him to see that it makes into the hands of a child with no coat. He was very thankful, said they needed coats badly as the winter has been unusually cold and people just don't have the money to buy coats… Continue
