I thanked the referee in my daughter's basketball game. He did such a nice job with the 10-12 year old girls. I don't think he gets thanked much for his gifts to the girls. Parents spend too much time complaining that their child didn't win. This guy helps the girls understand the game better. Shows you that you can't say thank you too much. What a powerful word. Day Five

Today we are anticipating an ice storm. Oh joy. This has been one long winter and it's just starting to be February. Today I took a pork roast meal (some leftovers I saved her from our dinner last night) to my friend Vera, who lost her sister on Saturday. I try to stop and visit with Vera when I have time and realized that I hadn't been making much time for her. She lives alone (her husband died 5 years ago yesterday) and she is getting less able to get around. Doing this challenge… Continue
Day Four---Giving and teaching to give

Twice a year, our small church sponsors a meal for the homeless at another church near by. They have a free hot meal for anyone who needs it every Monday from 5:30-6:30. We prepared Roast Pork, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, Macaroni and Cheese, String Beans and home made cupcakes. We served 125 meals to a very thankful crowd. An 86 year old woman at church lost her last sibling the day before. I purchased the flowers from the altar and a friend of hers delivered it to her. It was a beautiful arrangement with yellows, oranges and reds. Something to help brighten her day.
