Sorry, I've been gone awhile. It's hard to blog when traveling. Day 19GiftStayed and worked until 3 am for a late night system update at work. I suppose I was required to be there, but that was my whole day. Just doing this update, so I guess it will have to count. It did, however, take up a considerable amount of my energy and it was a lot to ask of me, even if it was for a job, so I think it counts. Day 17GiftI never use to send birthday cards to my extended family. After my mother died, while sorting some of her things, I came across some unsent birthday cards for members of my extended family. That's when I realized she never missed a cousing, neice, nephew, aunt, or uncle's birthday. GiftI got an email from my Dad about my Aunt, saying she was going to the doctor for some testing. It's to early to say what is wrong, but she hasn't been well. She is the primary caregiver for my Uncle, so I am pretty worried for her and for him. Additionally her daughter is having surgery next Sunday. Momma always said life was like a box of chocolates...GiftI took some chocolates from this huge bag our department received from a vendor, filled a candy jar I already had with them, and then gifted it to a co-worker in another department. To her from all of us in our department, happy birthday. GiftA gift to the heart. I took time to sign the petition to have the white house lit up red this February for Heart Awareness month, and I made a $25.00 donation to the American Heart Association. Most of the older members of my family suffer from some sort of heart condition from high cholesterol to stroke survivor to congestive heart failure. So raising awareness and fighting heart disease is really important to me and yet I've never made a donation or signed a petition for the cause before.See More

- I don't know. I'd like to think I'm motivated by altruism. I usually find thank-you's embarrassing, but I'll do my best to keep my heart open and graciously receive.

Well it's christmas so I gave lots of gifts. But not christmas related, my little brother and his girlfriend are staying at my Dad's house, and things got a little awkward when my Dad insisted on two bedrooms and then my Dad found my brother's girlfriend's clothes on the floor of my brother's room. Don't you hate when your internet goes out right at the end of a giving challenge. So I had to post the last 3 days a little later.

I haven't given christmas cards to my co-workers in years, but this year I did. Since I work with over 100 people I limited it to people who gave me a card and a few people I work more directly with. I wrote a nice little note inside each card, thanking them for being wonderful.
