Starting Over

On Day 10, the obligations of the holiday season overwhelmed me and totally sapped my energy.  Even though many presents were exchanged on Christmas morning, I felt removed from the giving and receiving experiences.  I'm not sure that I my previous 9 days' gifts were whole-heartedly given with the proper intent either, so I've decided that I'm going to start over after life returns to "normal."See More

Gift Four - Small Gestures

Yesterday was my day to get over the desire for grand gestures.  I spent my work day closed up in my office, trying to get work done before leaving for 2 weeks of vacation.  I interacted with people very minimally, so my gifts for the day were small, behind-the-scenes kinds of gestures. I've gotten most of my Christmas shopping done, but hadn't figure out what to get for my sister-in-law.  Her husband, who is my husband's brother, was diagnosed with brain cancer 15 months ago and their lives…See More

This is a small gift.  It was a spontaneous interaction with a stranger that can be the most rewarding kind of gift to give entirely because it's unexpected by everyone involved.
