On Day 10, the obligations of the holiday season overwhelmed me and totally sapped my energy. Even though many presents were exchanged on Christmas morning, I felt removed from the giving and receiving experiences. I'm not sure that I my previous 9 days' gifts were whole-heartedly given with the proper intent either, so I've decided that I'm going to start over after life returns to "normal."See More

Yesterday was my day to get over the desire for grand gestures. I spent my work day closed up in my office, trying to get work done before leaving for 2 weeks of vacation. Even though many presents were exchanged on Christmas morning, I felt removed from the giving and receiving experiences. This is a small gift. It was a spontaneous interaction with a stranger that can be the most rewarding kind of gift to give entirely because it's unexpected by everyone involved.
