Laid off

Most of you remember how my husband was laid off a few weeks ago. On Sunday, I was laid off too.I've been at my dream job for 14 months. I was working for a wedding Officiant company and was in charge of the chapel. My boss has become a friend to me and my family, which makes it harder. Basically it's a money thing. He needed someone with more business to business sales. He wants me back when they open the second office, but that may not be for a few months or a few years. Who knows.I'm scared.…See More

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
Giving has always been a part of my life, and it's become a huge part of our family's life. I also suffer from chronic pain. Reading this book touched my life in a way that i haven't felt in a long time. It gave me hope that I could enrich my life free from pain and hurt.
What I'd most like to receive:
I'd like to receive a new outlook on life. I'd like to have a greater understanding of hope and gratitude. I'm also working on my charity book, about my family and i giving back for a year. So one day I'd like to have that published.

Changing My Way Of Thinking

I am sick. I am a disabled mother of 3. I have never really said those words aloud. Mostly bc I'm scared of them. I live my life in a haze of excedrin, muscle relaxers, & pain. I have degenerative disc disease, a compression fracture at T12, & herniated/ruptured discs from T10 all the way down. I can barely pick up one of my kids on a good day.



But I am recovering. Slowly but surely. Now I need to heal my mind.

The 29 Gifts Movement is something I was randomly introduced to one day. I was able to leave my old job early one day. Borders next to my work was closing so I decided to stop by. Despite the influx of ebooks in recent years, you can't beat a good old fashioned book!

Day 5: Easter Giving

Yesterday's gift was a two-fold. My mom took the day off work. So I spent the day driving her around for all her errands. We went to the Swap Meet, did some charity shopping, then we spent an hour volunteering for Operation Easter Basket. Their goal was to collect 1600 baskets to distribute to underprivileged kids.
