- Why I'm choosing to give:
- I know it will be good for my heart and soul to focus on giving. I want to eventually give a gift every single day! I believe we could heal many of our collective hurts if everyone stopped focusing on their own pain, and started giving time, attention, and energy to others.

- About me:
- I am a southerner. I am 30. (Yes, its a defining characterisitc)I am back in school pursuing my masters in special ed. Been married to a filmaker for 5 years- we just moved back to the south after living in NYC for 5 years. We are trying to start a family and having a great time in the process :) I have 5 sisters and one sis-in-law, mama and daddy, the best in-laws a girl could want, and one fabulous niece. I love my family!!! I also love to take pictures of very tiny things up close, I love painting, needle work, the colors grey and yellow right next to eachother, daffodills, anything by orson scott card, gospel music, and my girl friends. life is hard, life is sweet, and every day is a gift.

No More Ms. Braggy Pants

And what did i give away this weekend? Well, I am having an issue with the 29-gifts challenge. I'm starting to feel like a braggy-pants, always talking about the nice things i'm doing for others. SO. I'm not gonna talk about it anymore, I'm just gonna give and have it be my own personal challenge. What really got to me was the "community" at 29gifts.org. people are saying the nicest things to me. My friend Hannah and I went out for our weekly girls club lunch (minus Amanda who is in NYC- miss you!!!) and today I gave Hannah some delicious chicken nuggets.... And I think she is gonna take the challenge as well!
Day Two: The Bell Center

Today I give of my time... I am pursuing a masters in special education and as part of my degree, I am required to log a certain number of hours in the classroom. I start in two weeks working at a fabulous place called The Bell Center. Its a completely privately funded organization that offers early intervention classes to children, newborns to 3 yrs of age.
