So, I feel bad that I haven't been recording my challenge here, but I figure - better late and consolidated than never. I have been sticking to my giving challenge - giving things as varied as a silly gift to a friend, the gift of spending time with another friend, and so on. I have also noticed something in the world, maybe a softening somehow? What I'm trying to express is kind of a "niceness" that I sense, a generosity that either wasn't around before (unlikely) or I didn't notice/appreciate…See More

Day 3, otherwise known as Cupcake Day!
So today was a day of pre-planned gifts... sort of. I wanted to thank someone who has helped me a great deal over the past few weeks, so I stealthily found out his favorite "sweet" flavor. I did some research, and the local gourmet cupcake shop offered that flavor on Fridays, so I arranged my schedule so I could go pick it up during the day and deliver it to him before he left work. Where do I begin? Today was truly an abundant, blessing-filled day. My intended gift was to buy coffee for a friend that I was meeting - I thought my gift would be to treat her with her drink while we caught up. Then, I just went on a mad giving spree! I wrote an email to tell a friend's boss about a tremendous compliment I overheard about her. I started reading the book last night, and I decided as I was reading that I just needed to jump in as soon as possible. I'm not sure I really even know what "gifts" would be considered actual gifts, but I'm in it to have a fantastic, life-altering experience.
