- Why I'm choosing to give:
- I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis this year and battled an addiction to pain killers in the past. The RA diagnosis set me off into my addiction again. After reading 29 Gifts I was inspired to go into medical detox just like Cami and get clean again. This book has been the biggest gift to me. And the only way I know how to repay it is to give like Cami gave. What better day to start than Thanksgiving!
- What I'd most like to receive:
- I'd like to receive a feeling of purpose. To know that even battling my auto immune disease that I still have something to offer this world.
- How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
- I read the amazing book!
- About me:
- I think I did that in the "choosing" section.. but again the amount of gratitude I have in my heart today for this book is indescribable. I'm so excited to see how my life transforms through this process.

I was raised as an only child by two parents who divorced when I was a baby. My dad was a drug addict my entire life and was extremely volatile and even sometimes cruel. However, I always loved him and wanted nothing more than to be "his girl".. My mom was a different kind of addict.. hers manifested itself in men.. Yesterday I wasn't sure what my gift was going to be for most of the day. I just kept an open heart and was ready to give when it was right. At about 5pm I received a call from one of my friends who had another surgery on his hand yesterday. His hand got caught in a sheet metal machine earlier this year and we thought he would lost all use of it. But thankfully after several surgeries he has regained most function. From my last blog I wrote about my cousin who is in prison in Texas. So on Saturday I made the drive with my boyfriend (thank goodness) to see him. I thought my body was going to be in a lot of pain by the time we got there because of my RA but thankfully I was okay. I went in to spend my two hours with him and what a gift it was! Yesterday I went to buy a gift to one of my very dearest girlfriends in California. She was recently here in Louisiana while her husband was working and we were able to spend some great girl time together. She mentioned while here that she loved a lotion that I get at a boutique that they don't have in California. So that was my gift yesterday.
