and then there's 8... (2 different kinds of giving?)

I seem not to have contiguous days -- at least not contiguous days of logging my gifts. I'll count this way for now to keep with the spirit of my intention rather than the letter...I am curious about the ways I give that are 'extra' -- really stretching or extending more than my habit to give, and the ways that I give that are 'normal' -- that feel like nothing more difficult than getting out of bed, or making a cup of tea. They happen almost without will...For example.I picked my friend up…See More

Day 4 - traditional giving & not out of the ordinary.

I gave money to an organization that inspired me. I was prepared to NOT give (in fact, left my credit card @ home).hmmmfinding something increasingly distasteful about blogging about the giving... I'm watching it for now, & signing in ANYWAY.The blogging of the experience lands like i'm somehow trying to 'get credit' for having given rather than allowing the giving to naturally flow. It seems to take away from the beauty of the giving -- of the presence offered to a friend, the creations…See More

Well, I'm sure now, that my count is off. (counting all the way to 6 seems to have challenged me!)

Saturday, attending a party, i offered my presence and a hostess gift -- happy to have slipped out of my inward focus to put attention into finding something simple & thought out to offer.

Sunday, taking friends to a concert, picking up the tab. A friend of a… Continue
