Charitable Event Where All Can Participate at Pepsi Refresh Website

July 4, 2010 at 6pm to July 31, 2010 at 11:45pm

I wrote a grant proposal and entered it into the Pepsi Refresh challenge. I have two autistic children, though myself nor my children will benefit. I want to see a school for children with autism receive money to expand their space to accommodate the children on a waiting list.I vote every day and encourage others do do so. My son is high functioning and ever so typical of the verbose side of autism ... as I know, parents of non-verbal children long for the to speak, and I am on the flip-side of that desire... sometimes I wish he'd just stop. For a little while. During waking hours. Even 15-20 minutes a couple times a day...

How old are yours? Mine's 9, Grade 4... and he's turning me into one kick-ass advocate. All I had to do was remember that I was a journalist before he came along... like riding a bicycle, and almost as fun.

How are you coping with this life? Or should I ask, are you coping with this life?

Myself - much better this year (due to aforementioned kick-ass advocating). My twisted sense of humor deserves much credit as well.

Look forward to connecting - do you skype?
