Just got back from seeing my daughter and her orchestra. Man those violins were unreal. Have a good one. Hope you are feeling better. I have been doing the self care reound and guess what -- I got sick. ahhhh God has a sense of humor.

Day 27 and Day 28

I haven't been keeping up so I'll try to remember everything. I know Shannon has been trying to do things with a cheerful heart and not complaining. She helped her dad with wood, swept the floors for me and made me hot cocoa.On Saturday, I went to a craft show and the first thing I saw was a beautiful framed photo of Mr. and Mrs. cardinal. Day 26

Shannon baked and shared more cookies. She also decorated one of the Hospice Christmas trees. I bought one of my students a hot chocolate. She was quite surprised. Feeling very sad and missing my husband.

They had to stop the program for awhile due to an overwhelming number of cards, but their website says they have re-engineered their process to be more efficient and now they are open to receive card donations again ;-)

About me:: I am a music teacher, a Mom to my beautiful 14-year old daughter. My husband who was my very best friend, passed away this summer from cancer. I love the sunshine, the water and Maine. I love to travel, scrapbook and watch musicals.

I am the 14 year old daughter. I love to swim, listen to music, play tenor sax, oboe, and piano, I love Alexandria Bay, and I am an avid Batman fan. (The Christian Bale Batman) :)

I haven't been keeping up so I'll try to remember everything. I know Shannon has been trying to do things with a cheerful heart and not complaining. She helped her dad with wood, swept the floors for me and made me hot cocoa.

Shannon was back at school and gave away some cookies. She also helped me by washing her bedding, without being asked.
I gave a $5 Tim Horton's gift card to a teacher whose Mom just passed away. I saw him in the hall and said, "hello". He gave a big bear hug and said, "You are an incredible human being". How awesome is that? That put a smile on my face all day. I think it still might be there when I wake up tomorrow.

Although Shannon is still housebound, she managed to give several good gifts:

Helped me put together a heated birdbath

Baked cookies

Pet the cat

Picked up after the other cat who dumped the first cat's food

Do you know you can play blues on the harp? Google Debra Henson Conant and listen to New Blues. My daughter also has a celtic harp (i.e., folk harp= 36 strings) she plays Jazz and blues on.
