day 29

Last day - I wish that I had something profound to write for my 29th day of giving, but I don't. For my family, I made a homemade stew for dinner. I said some heartfelt prayers for a couple of friends (Scott with back problems and Peg who is trying to sell her home).Thank you for all who have commented on my blog posts. I appreciate the support and good luck in your giving endeavors.Peace and Aloha!See More

Day 17 - food

Twice today I attempted to give a donation to the Red Cross volunteers on the road, but failed due to timing of the light, location of my car in the intersection, and time commitments where it wasn't feasible to circle around.I settled on giving a small cash donation to the victims of the recent disaster in Haiti through the UN World Food Program website. For my family, I made homemade chicken soup.We received homemade chocolate chip cookies from the next door neighbors.See More

Day 16

There was nothing remarkable about my gifts today. My husband caught the stomach flu that my daughter and I had a few days ago. He was in bed most of the day. I made him rice and applesauce and made a special trip to the store for ginger ale. Nothing remarkable, but he was extremely appreciative. At my daughter's swimming lesson, I started a conversation with another mother. She is recently divorced and is now raising her two children (ages 2 & 4) by herself. Her ex-husband lives on another…See More
